I consider myself a helper and challenger. I care deeply about the people I work with—relationships are my fuel. I see a bias toward action and direct communication as signs of commitment and respect.

Backstory

I always trust an uncomfortable leap of faith. My family immigrated from the USSR as refugees in the early 80s. Our community helped us find our footing and thrive. Today, I am here to support others through their own leaps of faith.

I spent the last decade helping build and scale HubSpot and Slack, two companies that shared two key things in common: A magnetic culture and an effusive customer community. At HubSpot, we moved from a sales driven go-to-market to a freemium flywheel business. At Slack we layered in enterprise sales after establishing a viral, bottom-up motion. The key to each strategy was simple: seek to create value and the rest will follow.

On the lookout for

I’m interested in the future of work, SMB SaaS, and any company that grows through a self-service and community-driven motion. Beyond this, I’m compelled by founders who are so passionate about the problem that they’re solving that their enthusiasm is contagious.

A founder that’s a good fit for me is someone who is clear on the company’s vision and relentless in pursuit of its mission.
