Many of our initial conversations with founders consist of coffee chats or flipping through business plans. But Filip came to our first meeting with hardware. In a matter of minutes, Filip set up a security camera and demonstrated its many competitive advantages—not least of which was having the sharpness, modernity and user-friendliness of a consumer product. After meeting Verkada’s fifteen-person team at their San Francisco headquarters, a half-office, half-warehouse filled with cameras and shipping boxes, it was hard to imagine a world without this product.
